About

Founded in 1994, Beowulf Energy (“Beowulf”) is a privately-held independent infrastructure holding company with offices in New York, Maryland, California, and Trinidad.  We are active in the development, acquisition, operation, and management of power, oil & gas, and industrial facilities in the United States and select international jurisdictions.  Over its 20+ year history, Beowulf has developed, owned, and/or operated over $6 billion of energy infrastructure assets worldwide.  Beowulf is led by its founder, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer, Paul B. Prager.

Development

Beowulf is an active developer of energy infrastructure projects, with specific expertise in power generation, midstream and downstream oil & gas, and other energy-related businesses (e.g., fertilizer, refining and heavy oil upgrading, petrochemicals, shipping, and commodities).  Beowulf leverages its deep in-house EPC, commodities, operations & maintenance, and financing expertise to ensure (i) a disciplined approach to development and investment, deploying effective risk mitigation techniques throughout project development, (ii) projects are structured to achieve construction financial close, (iii) assets operate efficiently day-to-day upon commissioning, and (iv) the project life is extended, enhanced and maximized through intelligent development, design, engineering, construction, and operations.  Beowulf focuses on identifying and executing expansion opportunities for its existing portfolio as well as development projects that provide meaningful opportunity for follow-on investment.  Beowulf typically retains a long-term ownership interest in its development projects.

Acquisitions

Beowulf actively seeks opportunities to acquire controlling interests in substantial, high-quality, energy-related infrastructure assets and businesses.  We seek attractive risk adjusted returns through balanced investments across a broad range of asset types, including (i) assets operating under long-term contracted feedstock and offtake agreements, (ii) assets operating on a merchant basis taking commodity price risk, and (iii) platforms holding diversified portfolios of energy assets.

Operations and Maintenance & Asset Management

Beowulf is a highly regarded operating manager with experience in energy infrastructure operations, management, and construction.  Beowulf serves as an owner-operator of its assets in order to ensure they achieve the highest availability at the lowest possible cost, thereby aligning incentives among project sponsors, plant operators, and plant off-takers.  We also provide operations & maintenance and asset management services to third-parties.
